28 november 2013 -
A new edition of the Modefabriek!

The upcoming winter edition of Modefabriek on 26 & 27 January 2014 in the Amsterdam RAI will look completely ‘new’. Of course it will, there’s a new season, new trends, new collections, new talent and brand new platforms and segments. But it doesn’t stop there. The ‘Retail Future Home’ exhibition will take an inspiring look at the future of retail, and the food category will suddenly take on a far more prominent role.

Retail Future Home

The Retail Future Home project is a special collaborative project between Modefabriek and STUDIO by Judith ter Haar. She is well-known in the worlds of fashion and culture as the owner of Jones Arnhem, the joint founder of the talent shop ‘Coming Soon Arnhem’ and as a lecturer on the Fashion Masters at ArtEZ, and in June 2013 she set up her forecasting agency, ‘STUDIO by Judith ter Haar’. This innovative businesswoman, together with her team of trend forecasters and designers, is creating the experimental retail environment ‘Retail Future Home’ for Modefabriek. It is an interactive installation that will allow visitors to experience and share new visions for a range of aspects of retail.

Food Market

One of the main trends that Modefabriek has picked up in its pursuit of the ‘new’ is the reinvigorated passion and attention for food. Traditional methods and innovation, quality, speciality and creativity: everything that applies to fashion and lifestyle applies just as much to the new conception of food. By selecting the new Food Market in close collaboration with its hospitality partner, YveY, Modefabriek has opted for one central culinary hotspot. The Food Market will take Modefabriek to a higher culinary level than we were used to, inspired by culinary markets like Eataly in Barcelona, which takes the artisanal quality of local products to a larger audience. Modefabriek has even appointed a leading chef, Jaimie van Heije, of Restaurant Jaimie van Heije in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, to work at the table-service terrace. You will need to make a reservation for this well in advance.
